Now that winter is almost over, chances are that your car is looking a bit worse for wear.

There are probably salt stains on the hood and doors, the windows are grimy, the inside is crusty with salt and sand from winter boots, and there might be quite a bit of trash…
If you’re ready to do some deep cleaning in your car, you don’t need to buy a bunch of expensive “car cleaners” to do it. In fact, most commercial car cleaners (and most regular cleaners, for that matter) contain plenty of dangerous chemicals you don’t need to be breathing in. Using natural cleaners is not only safer, but it’s also healthier. We advise you to use eco-friendly cleaners to clean your car this spring.

So how can you naturally do it? How, for example, you clean your car with baking soda?

Baking soda is perhaps one of the most versatile household items today. Having yourself some in stock and you’ll always be able to create something that benefits your home as well as health.

Apparently, baking soda carries these same benefits when it comes to car care. Providing a unique opportunity to clean the inside and outside of your car, following are some tips on how to clean your car with baking soda:

Faux Leather

Start by cleaning the interior of your car. If you have one of those faux leather types of seating, a slightly damp towel with some baking soda will do the trick.

Just start rubbing the towel with baking soda on the leather and this will gently remove dirt from the surface. Follow it up by wiping the material with a damp cloth and your interior will look cleaner.

Carpeting

Just start sprinkling baking soda on the carpeting, leave it there for a few minutes and then vacuum them off. This technique should help remove any odor from the fabric.

However, if you want to be more thorough, try sprinkling the baking soda and just brushing the surface with a damp brush. This should help further clean the fabric. You can also do this to the carpet located at the trunk.
