If “To get a driver’s license” is the next thing in your TO DO list, then you’ve come to the right place.

We are going to show you how to prepare yourself for the driver licence written test and pass it with confidence.

  1. Get a copy of your state’s driver’s manual.

This is the first and very important step toward your driver licence written test. You can get the manual here or from any BDE (Beginner Driver Education) courses provider. This book will contain all the information that you may be tested on.

Read it chapter by chapter and make notes – this is the only way to ensure you are receiving all the information that you will need. Pay attention on the information about differences between G1, G2 and G full. Make sure you understand how the demerit points system works and when a driver license can be suspended. Check out the MTO web site for more information on how demerit points work in Ontario.

  1. If the book is too dry for you and you find it difficult to work with it and recall the information, take a

Drivers Education class. These classes are often not mandatory; however they will definitely provide a less dry way to cover the content of the Drivers Manual. The class room lessons will usually cover all the information from the book in a more interactive and interesting way providing you with the opportunity to build the associations and remember the course material.

One Chinese proverb says: “Tell me, I forget. Show me, I remember. Involve me, I understand”.

Remember, you need that knowledge not for the written test only – you need it for life! Safe driver knows the traffic laws and obeys the rules! Note: the Insurance Companies provide ONLY the Driving Course graduates with the special discount, but only when the certificate is issued by the MTO Registered Driving School.
